Blessing
The character Fú stands for Good Fortune and Blessings. It is most popularly used during many of the Chinese celebrations, hung on the entrances of many Chinese homes with the intended message of “Blessings” or “Bless this house”. The practice is universal among Chinese people irrespective of socioeconomic status, and dates to at least the Song Dynasty (AD 960 – 1279).
The Fú character is written in 100 ways, each of them have their own merits, different fonts, and none are the same. Being written and arranged neatly by the artist, It produces a unique artistic effect, giving the audience a feeling of magnificence and profound meaning.
